Ben Dorsey is running away from his pain.  That’s what you do when the girl that you have loved for all of your life chooses another. But you can’t run away from what you really are forever so he tries to quiet his demons by returning to football. 

And just when life is starting to look up – it hands him another tragedy.  This time, his savior appears in the form of an equally broken young girl who is as beautiful as her name – Echo.  She unlike any girl that he has ever met – bold, talented and just a bit sad.  

“Kiss me?”

I ask, feeling small and hopeful. He stares at me for a long moment, and then his brows draw down and his expression shifts to reflect some inner pain.

“No, Echo. See, I’m selfish too. I want all of you. I don’t just want one kiss because you feel bad about yourself.”

He crouches at my bedside, and I roll to face him, and he has both of my hands in his. Tears stream down my face.

 “Ben—”

He ignores me and keeps talking.

“I want more than one kiss. I want more than one night, more than one tumble in the sheets.”

“But I don’t know how—”

“It’s simple, Echo. You just have to learn how to be totally vulnerable, that’s all.”

I laugh. “Is that all? Just bare all my secrets, just like that? Just… be totally vulnerable?”

“That’s all.”  

Echo Leveaux just lost the one person left in the world that grounded her.  Now she feels set adrift on an unknown and turbulent sea of guilt and self-doubt.  She finds acceptance in the arms of the intense and gorgeous Ben.  But when he finds out how tainted she really is - he will disappear just like every other man in her life. 

But Ben is determined to show Echo that regardless of what she has done in the past – her heart holds the key to his future.

 “Do it, Echo. Rip your chest open, and let me in. Let me see you bleed. I can’t promise I can make it all okay, because I can’t. But I can promise to be there when it’s not.” 

Once again, Jasinda proves that out of the greatest pain is born the greatest love. Falling Away is a journey of loss and finding true love in a place so unexpected. 

Ben and Echo deal with despair in different ways but through music they are able to communicate on a soul level.  Painful lessons are learned and the past is met head on to bring them together in a heart wrenching and truly inspiring climax. 

Falling Away is the perfect ending to a series that defines the very best of contemporary romance…
