{Book Review} Demons Within (For The Love of Authority #1) by Rhiannon Ayers (@RAyersAuthor)6/8/2014 Allen Heras just landed his dream job, and he’s determined to make the most of this chance for a new life. Only there’s a problem: he can’t seem to stop lusting after his bosses. After suppressing his bisexuality his whole life, he can’t afford to let his hormones ruin his chances for success. Now, if he could just get his big head to convince the little one of that, he’d be just fine. Sidri McKenna and Tatum McAlister have always known there was something missing between them: another man, one who could bear the love of two Doms. And they’ve chosen Allen to be that man. They’d always known it would be an uphill battle, convincing Allen that three people could make it in a long-term triad. But when the demons from Allen’s horrible past threaten their relationship, they realize that the real battle isn’t convincing Allen to love them---it’s convincing him he’s worth loving in the first place. Add To GoodreadsAllen Heras grew up on the mean streets. He worked hard to leave his past behind and now all of that hard work seems to be paying off. But something is happening, something that he never expected. He is falling in love with his bosses. “He wanted them. Both of them. He feared the fallout if anyone at the company found out about the three of them being together, not losing his job. He feared his own lust for another man, a man who happened to be the lover of the woman he also wanted just as much. And he feared that if Sidri realized Allen desired both of them—a threesome in truth—she would be disgusted. And yet nothing could be further from the truth.” Sidri McKenna and Tatum McAlister are so much more than just business partners. They grew up together as children and their relationship has evolved into something infinitely more intimate and unique. They desperately want to share that with Allen, but can they first convince him that he is worthy of their love? “He had no idea, none, what kind of treasure he was. He had the tortured genius of Picasso, the dreamer’s vision of Da Vinci, the existential purity of Monet. He was both art and artist, lover and fighter, jailor and condemned.” Demons Within is the best Ménage romance that I have read in a very long time. It is much more than just an erotic story - it’s a journey where three broken souls seek shelter and strength in each other. The emotional connection between them is actually palpable. Each of the characters has demons to destroy but together they overcome them all including what society might think of them. Rhiannon tackles serious subjects such as homelessness, abuse, spirituality and marriage equality with such a brave voice that I certainly now count myself as a raving fan… Rating:
