New York Times bestselling author Lora Leigh tells a story of two Breeds who are united by animal desires, only to find it’s vengeance that stirs the mating heat…

He was a shadow, ever shifting and insinuating, able to blend in everywhere and anywhere. The elusive ideal conceived and created by the Genetics Council, he went by just as many names as he had identities—the last one being Gideon.

Now calling himself Graeme, he hides in plain sight, terrifyingly close to his goal. A rogue Bengal Breed, he has loyalties to no one but himself. And he has a need for vengeance that surges hot and swift through his veins.

Graeme plans to exact an extreme and ruthless vendetta against those who wronged him—Breed and human alike. All will suffer his wrath: those who created him, those who pretended to love him, and those who betrayed him.

That includes the one at the center of it all: a seductive, enigmatic woman helpless against the man whose desire is just as desperate as his need to destroy.

And he’s on her scent…

Graeme Parker has been waiting for a very long time.  Waiting for Cat to acknowledge exactly what he is to her – her mate.  He has lost count of how many sacrifices that he’s had to make to keep her safe.  The first and most painful of those was over thirteen years ago when he escaped from the labs and left her behind.

But now she is finally within his reach and those that would keep them apart will know the wrath of the monster inside of him – and there is no amount of blood that he won’t spill.
“Twenty-five years before, when Phillip Brandenmore had laid her in his arms and informed him coldly that her survival was his responsibility, Graeme had never imagined the exceptional creation she would become – even the arrogant Brandenmore hadn’t realized.  Graeme had ensured it.  Every therapy, every drug, every second in that godforsaken hellhole had created this wondrous creature.”
Everyone knows Cat as Claire Martinez.  She has been in hiding with that identity to avoid detection from the Genetic Council.  Now she is coming into her own and she refuses to be afraid of anything – or anyone – any more.

She thought that the Breed she knew as “G” wanted her dead, but she was wrong.  He wants her mind, body and soul.  But all she can remember is how the pain of his abandonment and betrayal has shaped her life.  How will she ever be able to resist the one man that she has ached for her entire life and will she survive him leaving her all alone once again?
“Hunger raged through her, a hunger that went far beyond the sexual into a realm of broken dreams, a broken heart and a scarred soul.

But the need to be held by him had followed her through all of it.  The need to be his, in whatever capacity he would allow her to belong to him, had always been a part of her.  Whether coded in by him, or matched by nature, did it really matter? Because the need for it far outweighed anything science could have created.”
Bengal’s Quest is by far the most complex and emotional of the Breed series to date.  I was skeptical upon reading what is essentially the thirtieth installment in this epic series.  But Lora Leigh reminded me why this is one of my all time favourite paranormal romances ever written!

It’s fabulously sexy, intense and so much more than I ever expected…
