Alexa Morgan lost her mother when she was two. At eighteen, her father and stepmother died when a devastating earthquake hit the Bay Area. Only one person has remained a constant in her life: Devin.
Devin has been Alexa’s best friend since childhood. The two are inseparable—or they were until Devin declared his love for her at sixteen. When Alexa can offer him only friendship in return, Devin retreats, brokenhearted. Alexa, on the other hand, longs for Ethan, the boy next door. Four years older than her, and with an ever-changing roster of girlfriends, Ethan is everything Devin isn’t: wild, sensual, and unpredictable. In the aftermath of the deadly earthquake, Ethan makes his move on Alexa, who reciprocates in a confused whirl of grief and desire. When Ethan leaves town the next day, Devin comes back into Alexa’s life, offering support and expecting nothing in return. Alexa begins to see the advantages of Devin’s quiet, stable love. But just as her feelings for her old friend begin to blossom, Ethan returns. Now Alexa must choose—the perfect boyfriend or the wild, thrilling bad boy. It’s a choice that changes her life forever.
Alexa Morgan grew up as the only girl on a street filled with boys. Until the day that her family moves to new neighbourhood. The houses are bigger and the boys are different – and far more dangerous.
Ethan Gage is something that she has never seen before. He’s older, beautiful and forbidden. He’s not the one that she should want but her heart doesn’t listen. He then becomes the first to teach her about love and about betrayal. “I stopped and glanced back at the street opening, and a red sport bike caught my attention. The rider flew down the street and pulled into the driveway of the house two over from us. Now that he was closer, I could see he was riding a Yamaha R1. I didn’t know why I was staring, but I was. The rider took off his helmet and ran his free hand through his mussed dark hair. He looked to be in high school, maybe sixteen or seventeen years old. He looked over at me and caught me staring at him. My breath hitched, and I felt the blush running to my cheeks at the quizzical look he gave me. All I could tell from this distance was that he was hot and even hotter with his half-cocked smile. I was a pubescent twelve-year-old—well, would be tomorrow —and had grown up with a bunch of boys, but this one boy made my insides feel different. Where was this shyness and blushing coming from? “
Devin Miller has known Alexa all of her life and he has loved her just as long. He’s from a family just like hers and his future is mapped out perfectly. So when tragedy threatens to tear Alexa apart, he is her shelter in the storm.
But what she thought was over has really just begun. Will she choose the boy who owns her heart or the one that owns her soul? “What isn’t there to like about Devin? He’s the varsity quarterback, even though he’s only a sophomore. He is definitely swoon-worthy in the looks department, with his six-foot athletic, muscular build. His long blond hair curls just above his eyebrows, and the bedhead look works for him. He has a strong, chiseled jawline, and although his nose is slightly crooked from when he broke it playing street hockey, it doesn’t take away from his handsome face. Devin’s thick eyelashes only enhance his mesmerizing deep Caribbean-blue eyes. He’s all of that, and you throw funny, smart, and charming into the mix and he really is the whole package.”
Alexa Crushed is a surprising rollercoaster ride through friendship, desire and unbearable loss. Alexa has to navigate through so many different emotions at once that even I was questioning exactly what was happening. T.R. Chupak had on the very edge of my seat and that ending!
I’m going to say now that I’m totally #TeamDevin and can’t wait to see where this series will go next… Get The Book -
