The highly anticipated third novel in the Searching For series from Jennifer Probst, “one of the most exciting breakout novelists” (USA Today), featuring a runaway bride and the man who wants to be more than just her best friend...
Genevieve MacKenzie has her life completely under control. About to wed the charming Chief doctor at the local hospital, she’s an up-and-coming surgeon with everything she could ever want. Until an escape through the church window on the day of her wedding sends her life into a tailspin...and flings her right into her best friend’s arms. When Wolfe catches his best friend falling out a window on her wedding day, he doesn’t ask questions. He whisks her away, determined to watch over her and discover the truth behind her desperate escape. But when his feelings turn more than platonic, he realizes he may risk his most important relationship in order to protect his damaged heart, and the woman he loves. Can Genevieve and Wolfe’s friendship turn into something deeper—or is it already too late for true love?
Gen MacKenzie never envisioned her wedding day would go anything like this. After squirming out of a window in a dress that cost more than some small cars, she’s rescued by her best friend.
Wolfe has always been there when she needed him. Darkly sexy and simmering with an intensity that is impossible for any breathing female to ignore, he has a reputation for avoiding commitment as well. So when he offers to help her hide away and get her head together after running out on what would have been the wedding of the year, she instantly agrees. There has always been something special between them but neither one was willing to destroy the friendship that they valued so much. Gen knows how insane it would be to get involved with Wolfe. She could never explain it to her family and friends, but sometimes real love defies all explanation. “She’d tried. Hadn’t she? But she wasn’t strong enough. The constant back and forth between cold disdain, teacherlike discipline, and loving, needy partner began to destroy her. So many times she’d chosen to forgive the way he hurt her because he loved her. But what was real love anyway? She didn’t know anymore.”
Wolfe always thought that Gen deserved the best of everything and that is everything that he isn’t. He’s been broken by his past and the ink on his skin tells a story that only he knows. Even money and his hard earned success could never convince him that he had anything to offer her beyond just the physical. So why does his world come alive with just her smile? He should walk away before it's too late. But when it comes to Genevieve, there never was any other choice.
“We don’t apologize to each other. Not for what we do together or feel. We own it all, Gen. And I intend to do every filthy, dirty thing I’ve imagined without fucking apologizing. Part your legs.”
I was a fan of Jennifer’s series before reading Searching for Beautiful – but now I’m a complete junkie! Gen and Wolfe’s story was so much more intense and emotional for me. Add all of that to her whip smart banter and the intricate yet realistic relationships between all of the characters and you have an amazingly delectable romance that you can really lose your heart to…
Guest Post From The Amazing Jennifer Probst!!
I’D BE A RUNAWAY BRIDE FOR....
I’ve always wanted to write about a runaway bride. Back in my deep, dark past, I almost became one. I used to look back and wonder how different my life would’ve been if I had escaped out the church window like my heroine, Genevieve. Of course, I came to the conclusion we all should. That was not my path. Change one thing, and the entire line of dominos collapse, and I love my life right here, right now. But I have a special job. I write. So, I was able to give myself a fictional do-over and follow my bride on the run as she finds her new path, and runs straight into the arms of her best friend, Wolfe. YUM. For now, though, let’s talk fictional. My runaway bride story was fact, but if we spin the wheel of fantasy, we can have a whole load of fun. I’m holding a very special contest to celebrate the release of Searching for Beautiful, and it revolves around YOU being the runaway bride! To win some amazing prizes like XXXX list them here: just tell me WHO you would become a runaway bride for! Make sure you use the hashtag for twitter and share with everyone you know. The more the merrier, and the more shout outs, the more prizes we’ll throw in! I’ll start us out, ladies! I’d become a runaway bride for: My man with the hammer and long flowing blonde locks.... Chris Hemsworth! AND My soul-mate (0ther than my hubby, of course!) – the soulful, gorgeous, tatooed, sensitive bad boy that my hero Wolfe from Searching for Beautiful is based on-- Adam Levine! Enjoy the drool factor. Your turn! About The Author -
