{Blog Tour & Giveaway} When You Are Mine (The Bennetts #1) By Kennedy Ryan (@Kennedyrwrites)6/18/2014 Forever is a heartbeat away . . . Kerris Moreton knows how to make things work. Bounced from foster home to foster home as a kid, she adapted; when opportunity arose, she thrived. Now, about to open her own business and accept a marriage proposal, Kerris is ready to build the life she's always wanted. The only thing missing? A passionate connection with her would-be fiancé, Cam. Kerris wants to believe that sparks are overrated-until Walsh Bennett lights her up like the Fourth of July. . . . but what about love? As one of the East Coast's most eligible bachelors, Walsh enjoys financial independence, fulfilling work with his family's nonprofit, and plenty of female attention. But lately he's been distracted by the one woman he can't have. Lovely to look at and even sweeter to know, Kerris is the soul mate Walsh never thought he would find. The problem is, his best friend found her first . . . Add To Goodreads Walsh Bennett seems to live a charmed life. He’s from an influential family and handsome beyond words. But instead of inheriting his father’s love for ruthless business, he prefers to dedicate himself to his mother’s charities. When he meets the recipient of the scholarship from The Walsh House, he knows that he will never be the same. Kerris Moreton survived a traumatic childhood growing up in foster care and has worked tirelessly to make something of life – and being named Scholar of the Year is just the beginning. Her boyfriend, Cameron Mitchell has been her support. He too has a troubled past but was taken in by the Bennett’s when he met Walsh at summer camp. The last thing that she ever wanted to do was to betray Cam and fall madly in love with his best friend. “Walsh could have anyone. She and Cam were made for each other: they could heal each other and build together. The future and family they’d never thought they’d have, they could have each other. She was more and more sure that at the end of the summer, when Cam asked again, she would agree to marry him.” One kiss is all that it takes to turn the world upside down. Walsh can no longer fight what he feels for Kerris but will watching her go through life loving another man be his penance for having the world at his feet? “Kerris wasn’t sure if he didn’t hear or ignored her, but he didn’t lift his eyes again. She didn’t know if that kiss had begun one thing or destroyed another. The attraction between them, an undercurrent all summer, had broken the surface with violence and heat. She’d never forget the feeling that exploded inside her, his touch tripping an invisible wire only he had discovered. Those sensations had been hidden treasures in her own body, and her insides still hummed and buzzed. No matter how good it felt, what happened could never happen again. Should never have happened at all.” When You Are Mine is unrequited love at its best! I felt every bit of the heart wrenching tension and longing that the characters did and the story held me captive until the very end. The next installment in the Bennett series – Loving You Always - is set for release in October and it just can’t come fast enough… Rating:About The Author - Kennedy Ryan grew up in North Carolina, but loves living in Atlanta with her husband (tall – check, dark – check – handsome – check), and her handful of a son. Though she knew, like writers often do, that she was supposed to tell stories, the road to fulfillment has been paved with “some of everything” jobs that kept her family eating and living indoors. With her degree in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Tar Heels!), she has focused on writing for non-profit organizations and even doing some non-fiction ghost writing. Only in the last few years did she start telling stories again. In addition to being a devoted wife and mom, she’s also a passionate advocate for families living with Autism. Her son was diagnosed at the age of two, and she has made it her mission to help as many families as possible find the resources and services they need. 25% of her royalties will go toward her national charitable partner Talk About Curing Autism and Myles-A-Part, her foundation serving Georgia families.
