In Thoughtless, Kiera told her story. Now it's time to hear from the sexy rock star who captivated us all . . . The only place Kellan Kyle has ever felt at home is onstage. Gripping his guitar in a darkened bar, he can forget his painful past. These days his life revolves around three things: music, his bandmates, and hot hookups. Until one woman changes everything . . . Kiera is the kind of girl Kellan has no business wanting-smart, sweet, and dating his best friend. Certain he could never be worthy of her love, he hides his growing attraction . . . until Kiera's own tormented heart hints that his feelings might not be one-sided. Now, no matter the consequences, Kellan is sure of one thing-he won't let Kiera go without a fight. Kellan Kyle was born to perform, born to be a rock star. Still there is a side to him that no one ever sees – the lonely boy who feels unworthy of love. The only person that could possibly understand is Denny Harris. His friendship and support helped Kellan cope with his troubled childhood. And now after all these years, Denny makes a welcome reappearance in his life – and he brings with him something that Kellan never thought he would find – true love. “Even still, I couldn’t resist a peek, and I again shifted my eyes to take her in. Oddly, she and the person she was with, who I could now see was a guy, were talking to Sam against the far wall. Sam seemed happy to be talking with the pair. Sam rarely looked that way at work, especially on a night when the bar was jam-packed full of people. Or potential problems, as he liked to call them. But he was smiling. He even reached out and gave the guy a hug. That was when it hit me. The guy was Denny. The girl I was instantly attracted to, even from the massive distance between us…was Denny’s girlfriend. Kiera followed Denny to Seattle to finally start their life together. Everything seems to be falling into place and they accept Kellan’s invitation to crash at his house until they get settled. But soon there is an attraction to the sexy and moody musician that she can’t seem to deny. She lives for the their morning routine when she can steal a few cherished moments with him. Together they are going to find out that love has the power to change your life but it also has the power to destroy everything. “I felt like I’d just been electrocuted, and the residual jolts were still crashing through my body, frying me from the inside. I needed her though. She was my greatest pain, and my only salvation. She was the only one who could heal this hole in my heart, a hole she’d torn open.” S.C. Stephens brings her legendary love triangle back in Thoughtful. This time the story is told through the eyes of the one and only Kellan Kyle. I have to be honest. This was a difficult read for me. I had no idea how utterly broken and hopeless that Kellan was and he literally ripped my heart out on every single page! I always thought that I understood Kiera and her struggle to choose between Denny and Kellan. This time around I couldn’t even fathom why she didn’t run to Kellan and never look back. With Thoughtful, S.C. Stephens proves beyond any doubt why she has become a literary shooting star and she shows no signs of ever burning out… Exclusive Excerpt -Determined to stop thinking, to just go with whatever happened, I dipped my finger into my drink and wet the backs of our hands. Kiera watched every move I made as I shook some salt over our hands. When she made no move to drink her shot, I broke the ice and took mine so she’d feel more comfortable about doing this with me. My throat was numb from doing Jäger shots all night, so it didn’t even burn. It burned for Kiera though. Q & A With S.C. Stephens - 1. Who gave you the one piece of writing advice that sticks with you to this day? My very first editor told me to use adverbs sparingly. I’m still working on that one. 2. What was hardest about writing the story from Kellan’s perspective? I think the hardest part was making sure everything lined up with the first book. I went through Thoughtless page by page to make sure it was consistent. What was the most fun? Any scene where all of the guys were together. I love the camaraderie between the band members. 3. Do you have any favorite book boyfriends of your own? Edward Cullen will always be my favorite book boyfriend. Sigh. I love him. 4. What’s your favorite quote or scene from THOUGHTFUL? Whether it’s from his point of view or hers, the rain scene is still my favorite. 5. Would the 10 year-old version of yourself kick your butt or praise you for what you've accomplished in life? A little of both, I think. But mostly praise. I’ve accomplished more than I ever imagined I would, and no matter what happens from here on out, I’m very proud of what I’ve done. About The Author - S.
