I’m running.
Running for my freedom. Running for my life. I’m running because everything hurts. And all I want to do is breathe. The old me was bold and wild and reckless and privileged. The new me is timid and freak-stricken and weak and broken. All I want is freedom. All I want to do is breathe. A complicated relationship? That’s the last thing I’m about right now. Something casual and easy? I’m down for that. But he is not. He wants to own me. He wants me to own him. He wants to save me. I’m too terrified to give in. All. I. Want. To. Do. Is. Breathe. But it turns out, Noah is the air that I need to do that… Breathe.
Charlotte Cooley isn’t the same girl that she used to be. She’s no longer the inquisitive and precocious teen that dared an overweight billionaire to run with her in the park.
That girl disappeared three years ago after her entire world was turned upside down. Now, she’s on the run from an abusive boyfriend with nothing but the clothes on her back. But a chance encounter with another gorgeous jogger is about to change all of that. Noah “Nate” Van Der Wells isn’t quite the same either. After years of neglect and a brush with death, he decided reinvent himself. Now he’s exactly the kind of man that every socialite in the city wants to sink her claws into. He’s never forgotten the girl that inspired him to change his life and now that he’s found her again, he’s not going to let her go. His gaze falls, rakes over my bare legs, the short hem of my dress, my cleavage. He swallows. “I couldn’t think straight after you left. Dressed like this. You’re so damn sexy it’s hard not to…it’s all just hard. I kept thinking some skinny white boy unworthy of you is gonna be taking this dress off you at the end of the night. Touching you. Putting his mouth on you. I couldn’t take it. So…here I am.”
Yes, Mr. Van Der Wells is unlike any other book that I’ve ever read. The characters are quirky and the dialog is off the wall but it’s the story itself that really stands out.
It’s a chaotic and tumultuous tale of finding true love and hanging on with everything that you have – and S. Ann Cole makes it one that you won’t soon forget… Get The Book!
