She’s always played it safe…
College junior Lucy Watson abides by one rule—avoid risk at all costs. She’s cautious in every aspect of her life, from her health, to her mock trial team, to the boring guys she dates. When a brash, gorgeous jock walks into the campus coffeeshop and turns his flirt on, Lucy is stunned by the force of attraction. For the first time ever, she’s willing to step out of her comfort zone, but can she really trust the guy who’s determined to sweep her off her feet? He’s always played around… Entering his last year of college eligibility, linebacker Matthew "Matty" Iverson has the team captaincy in his sights. And it’s his for the taking, if he can convince his quarterback Ace Anderson to give up the starting position. Luckily, Matty already has an edge—the hottie he’s lusting over just happens to be Ace’s childhood best friend. Getting Lucy on his side and in his bed? Hell yeah. Matty is more than confident he can have both, but when he falls hard for Lucy, it’s time for a new game plan: convince the woman of his dreams that she’s not sleeping with the enemy.
Lucy Watson always weighs the pros and cons. It’s what she’s good at. But one thing that she’s not good at is relationships. She saw her parents make mistake after mistake and she’s determined to not follow in the same footsteps.
So when Matthew Iverson walks into the coffee shop where she works, she’s pretty sure she’s got his number. He’s the big gorgeous hunk of manwhore that her best friend Ace is always warning her about – and Ace should know. He’s Matty’s teammate. The players for the Western State Warriors can have any girl on campus at any time and for some strange reason Matty has decided that he wants Lucy. She knows that she should stay very far away him but he’s wearing her down with his persistence and his panty-melting smile. And one night will work him out of her system, right? “We’re looking for the unicorn,” Charity says. “The guy who’s a good lay and decent out of bed.”
Matty Iverson is used to girls throwing themselves at him. He’s played more than his fair share on and off the field but he may have met his match in Lucy Watson.
She’s a quirky combination of beauty and brains and he’s falling harder for her than he ever expected. But when there’s unrest in the Warriors’ ranks, he’s going to have to choose between his love for the game and his love for Lucy. I’ve hungered for wins on the field, championships, success, but never a person. Not until Luce.
Jockblocked is yet another touchdown for Jen Frederick! Her whip smart characters and their hysterical banter had me flashing back to my own university days. Then combine that with the off-the-charts sizzle of Matty and Lucy and you have pure sweet and sultry perfection.
This is definitely a story for the championship and I’m secretly holding out hope that Ace is the next Warrior in line… Get The Gridiron Series -
